ON the day when death will knock at
thy door what will thou offer to him ?

Oh, I will set before my guest the
full vessel of my life I will never let
him go with empty hands.

All the sweet vintage of all my
autumn days and summer nights, all
the earnings and gleanings of my busy
life will I place before him at the close
of my days when death will knock at

పగటి తుదివేళ మృత్యుదేవతయె తలుపు
తట్టినపు డేమి కానుక పెట్టె దీవు? ||

అహహ! నా యిలు సేరిన యతిథి కేను
మ్రోల నిల్పెద జీవనపూర్ణపాత్ర,
సాగనంపను రిక్తహస్తాల నెపుడు ||

సురుచిర శరద్వసంత వాసరము లెన్నొ,
*(అందముల్ చిందు తొలి మలు సందెలెన్నొ,)
నింపె మధుమాధురుల్ జీవనంపు గిన్నె,
*(వేనవేల్ సుఖదుఃఖాల వెలుగునీడ
లుండె పూలయి పండ్లయి గుండెనిండ,)
పనుల సందడిఁ దడఁబడు బ్రదుకుతోడఁ
గూడఁబెట్టిన యదియును గూర్చునదియు
తుట్టతుదినాడు తలుపులు తట్టినట్టి
మృత్యుసన్నిధి సర్వ మర్పించుకొందు ||
