WHEN the warriors came out first from

their master's hall, where had they hid
their power ? Where were their
armour and their arms ?

They looked poor and helpless, and
the arrows were showered upon them
on the day they came out from their
master's hall.

When the warriors marched back
again to their master's hall where did
they hide their power ?

They had dropped the sword and
dropped the bow and the arrow ; peace
was on their foreheads, and they had
left the fruits of their life behind them
on the day they marched back again to
their master's hall.

స్వామి కూటమిలోనుండి సైనికాళి
వెలికిఁ దొలుదొల్త వచ్చినవేళయందె
మేటి భుజశక్తి యెచ్చట మాటువడెనొ?
అస్త్రముల్ కవచమ్ము లేమయ్యెనొక్కొ? ||

దీనులై యసహాయులై కానఁబడిరి,
నలువలంకులనుండి యానాడు వారి
పైనిఁ గురిసె నిరంతరబాణవృష్టి,
వెలికి వచ్చిరి ప్రభునియిల్ వీడినారు ||

మఱల తమ యజమానుని మందిరంబు
జేరుటకు వెనుదిరిగిరి వారలెల్ల,
తమ విపులశక్తి నెచ్చట దాచినారొ? ||

ఎచటఁ గత్తులు విల్లమ్ము లిడిరొ కాని
ఫాలమున శాంతిరేఖలు దేలియాడ
బ్రదుకులోపలి సుఖదుఃఖఫలము లెల్ల
వీడి వెనుకకుఁ దిరిగిరి నాడె తాము,
మఱలఁ దమ యజమానుని మందిరంబు
జేరుటకు వెనుదిరిగిరి వార లెల్ల ||
